Peter G
Peter Golikov, aka Peter G & The Russian on Percussion, started his formal music training at the age of 7, where he studied A.M.E.B classical piano for 10 years. His love of Funk and Soul music led him to shift towards Jazz piano, and begin performing live at the age of 16. This early introduction to music led him to begin playing Drums and then to hand percussion.
Over the last 7 years he has worked as the keyboardist/programmer in his band PTY LTD. They have toured throughout Australia and the world, including Nepal and America. Two American Vinyl releases (Gallery), followed with remixes by some of the most respected D.J’s in the business Derrick Carter and J.T Donaldson, The band has released 1 E.P, Two full length Album’s, and an assortment of compilation’s over the years. An Italian Vinyl release followed, of Elevator Lovin remixes, produced by D.J Blade of Jestofunk in 2005.
He has also continued to work as a session performer, featuring on H Foundation’s record “Environments” in 2003. The Feel good’s is a “Live” concept which began in 2003, with it’s focus being on showcasing all Brisbane musicians that respect the Funk. Think Old school Keyboards, 60’s Cosmic Grooves and Roots level Funk are all in the mix. “It shines Golden Rays of Sunshine, on those that are able to witness it”
Currently thrusting his energy and focus towards his solo work, Peter G is currently in the studio completing his first solo release, consisting of Funk/Down Tempo/ Sounds cape inspired music. Release date mid 2008.

He has also been the stalwart percussionist, banging out the Rhythm’s at Family for the last 7 Years. Being the resident Saturday rhythm machine in the Unkle Bar/Lounge, he has had the opportunity to play with some of best International Underground D.J’s, and Family resident’s included. He has also played at a host of Festivals including Good Vibration’s, Woodford Folk Festival, Summer Field Days, Kiss My Grass (Melb), Fall’s Festival, Parklife and the Playground weekender.
